SK85 (SK5) steel is Japanese high-grade carbon tool steel, cold work die steel, high carbon steel with a mass fraction of carbon above 0.80%, the hardness after quenching is 50~60HRC.
SK5 hot rolled carbon steel plate is used in mold parts that require high hardness and wear resistance due to sliding friction, such as guide pins, bushes, and ejector pins.
It is also used as cutting tools, cold heading dies, scrapers and files for processing wood.
SK5 material is equivalent to GB T8Mn material, is a kind of high carbon steel. It also know as SK85 steel.
