400 Series Stainless Steel
The 400 series stainless steel is an alloy of iron, carbon, and chromium. Because it does not contain nickel, it is a nickel saving stainless steel, also known as stainless iron. The 400 series stainless steel has normal magnetic properties because it contains a martensitic structure and iron elements.
The 400 series stainless steel has a strong resistance to high-temperature oxidation, and its physical and mechanical properties have been further improved compared to carbon steel. Most 400 series stainless steels can be heat treated.
