ASTM1566 is a spring steel used for various flat and round springs, cushion springs, spring springs, etc. in small sizes. The grade corresponding to China is 65Mn.
Manganese in 65Mn improves hardenability, φ12mm steel can be hardened in oil, the surface decarburization tendency is smaller than silicon steel, and the comprehensive mechanical properties after heat treatment are better than carbon steel, but it has overheating sensitivity and temper brittleness.
65Mn 1566 spring steel plate is used for various flat and round springs, cushion springs, and spring springs of small sizes, and can also be used to make spring rings, valve springs, clutch reeds, brake springs, and cold-drawn steel wire cold-rolled coil springs.
65Mn material is equivalent to ASTM 1566 material, is a kind of high carbon steel.
